- What is the need for training and coaching in organization?
-
"People are hired in companies for their technical skills but are fired for lack of soft skills"
In organizations you find gaps in an individual’s performance against a desired outcome which impacts the vision of the company. These get high lighted during performance appraisals or continuous feedbacks.
However in reality people do not know how to work on those areas on their own, to get the level of expected performance to achieve radical results. This means they would have incremental results in performance by implementing new practices with the help of self learning/known persons/trainings but may still end up in gaps.
This may result in the individual getting feedback on the same behavior in different variants during his career leading to a self limiting belief about himself/herself.
This may lead to attrition in organizations causing a huge impact in the long run as business life cycles are shorter and dynamic nowadays. However it is important for individuals to perform rapidly and consistently for organizations to sustain in business.
- Why is coaching in organizations more important than training?
-
A new research reveals that “Any training increased performance by 22%, while training combined with coaching increased performance by 88%”.
In a Classroom Training spanning for 1 – 2 days, a person gets the skills conceptually, however he finds it challenging in practicing it in real life.
Coaching helps the person to look at why he is being challenged in practicing it from the perspective of pschycodynamics. A coach facilitates the person to take actions during a stipulated time frame ranging from 5 -6 months.
- What is unique about your programme?
-
Our programme is unique as it is based on the theory of pschycodynamics developed by Sigmund Freud.
- Why are emotions important to human beings from a pschycodynamic perspective?
-
It is said that the stories and emotional experiences during our childhood and adolescence lies embedded in the subconscious mind. A child interprets the stories through left oriented linguistic brain. The emotions of the stories get embedded in the child’s right hemisphere of the brain. An example to justify that the right brain is emotion-oriented than the linguistic- left brain is, most of the time a child is carried on the left hand. The right brain controls the left part of the body. Researcher says that when a child is patted on the back while carrying in the left hand, our right brain communicates the emotion and child keeps quite. Hence it can be concluded that it is emotions which supersede the language in the human brain during initial and further development. It is said every human being reacts as a three year old when it encounters similar circumstances through a “blue print” of life governed by our childhood experiences
- Why is our subconscious mind powerful than the conscious mind?
-
Also our conscious mind works at 40 bits/second, whereas our subconscious mind which has all the data operates at 40 million bits per second. Our cognitive process is governed to the extent of 95% by our subconscious mind and only 5% through our conscious mind.
- How are intentions of a human being fulfilled in reality?
-
A part of the brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) acts as a gateway in sending the required information from our subconscious mind to our conscious mind depending on the intention provided by the conscious mind. So an intention of changing a behavior is conveyed by the conscious mind.
- How do you explain intentions turning to reality anatomically?
-
Anatomically, these can be attributed to functioning parts of the brain like Amygdale, Hippocampus and Basal Ganglia which gives an access to look at “why we behave the way we behave”.
- How does a Self limiting belief arise in a human being?
-
The emotions and stories in the subconscious mind get camouflaged during adulthood leading to blind spots in the human being. These lead to self- limiting belief of oneself when one starts playing bigger roles in both personal and professional lives. Each time there is a “blue print” for an individual when he encounters situations in life.
- How can Self limiting beliefs be altered?
-
The stories and emotions can be retrieved through a skilled conversation by a coach to look at a person’s blue print of his blind spot. Once he gets to the source of this self limiting belief of himself, he realizes the reason “why he behaves the way he behaves”. Now he has the freedom to transform this aspect.
- Why is sometimes new behaviours do not sustain for a longtime in human beings?
-
Until the person gets aware of the dis-empowering embedded emotion in his subconscious mind, any amount of positive thinking does not work. This is the reason sometimes; some altered behaviors do not have long-term sustainability and gets reversed if the embedded emotion in the subconscious mind is relatively powerful.
- How do new behavoiurs have longterm sustainability in human beings?
-
Once the person is aware of the emotions around a self limiting belief,he can create new emotions and behavior in that particular aspect. As the person starts changing new behaviors with new strategies, he gets the ability to deal with the previous situations from a different perspective. The new behavior gets into the subconscious mind and becomes a routine. This skill gets into his left hemisphere. He gets results not only in the coaching goals but other aspects of his life. His self esteem moves to the next level and is out of his self -limiting belief.
- Does an Executive Coach require functional expertise of the coachee for the engagement?
-
No he requires more of Psychological expertise.
- How does Empower Business facilitate people to re-invent themselves?
-
We offer a 4 individual one to one coaching sessions (conversations held in confidentiality) lasting 3-4 hours with unlimited tele-support for a period of one month. Also our coaches would monitor the progress on a weekly basis. Our coaches have a high level of psychological literacy.
- What is the strategy of Empower Business to empower people at work?
-
Coaching sessions begins with individuals setting their own objectives to be achieved in one month. During the conversation through his self awareness and peer awareness he gets into the embedded self limiting belief. Due to our expertise in psychological literacy, the individual introspects about the stories and emotions of the self limiting beliefs of himself. As the individual is in conversation with an external person he freely discusses delicate issues, shed defenses and explores short comings in both professional and personal life allowing a sense of freedom to be.
Once the individual goes through the source of his stories and emotions of his embedded self limiting belief, he is now free to create new actions to forward the objective. He puts new structures in place to achieve the objectives and gets into action. As he monitors his performance on a weekly basis, the individual has also an access to work on the other under performed areas with the external person and look at any self limiting belief which is not allowing him to take the desired action.
Our research and experience shows after practicing over a period of I month with constant monitoring of the progress the person develops new behaviours/skills. Through out the engagement, he gets a new perspective to look at present challenges and future opportunities’ and be in action to produce the desired performance in known/unknown areas. The people around him are able to experience his new self. During the closure of the engagement, he is able to sense his transformation and realizes he is now out of the clutches of his self limiting belief to produce extraordinary performance.
